Shropshire Honey | Small Batch | Smooth & Spreadable

Honey from our own bees in North Shropshire, carefully worked to create an exceptionally smooth, creamy texture.

Made using honey recovered from the wax cappings during extraction, our Soft Set Honey brings together honey from across our Shropshire apiaries, making the most of each harvest.

Unlike our naturally set honeys, which crystallise at their own pace, this honey is carefully worked over three to four days. Starting with honey that has naturally crystallised and set hard, the process creates a very fine crystal structure, giving it a silky-smooth consistency that stays soft and spreadable at room temperature.

The result is a rich, creamy honey that's easy to spread without the drips of runny honey or the firmness of naturally crystallised honey.

Perfect for toast, crumpets, fresh bread or just enjoying by the spoonful.

Produced in very small batches, with nothing added.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is soft-set honey?

Soft-set honey is honey that has been carefully worked to produce very fine crystals, creating a smooth, creamy consistency rather than allowing larger crystals to develop naturally.

It contains no cream or other added ingredients, just honey.

How is your soft-set honey made?

We start with honey that has naturally crystallised and set hard. Over three to four days, Henry carefully works the honey using specialist equipment to refine its crystal structure.

This produces a much finer, smoother texture that remains soft and easy to spread at room temperature.

Will soft-set honey turn hard?

Our soft-set honey is prepared to maintain a smooth, spreadable consistency at normal room temperature, rather than setting into a firm, coarse crystal structure.

As with any natural honey, its texture may change depending on storage conditions, particularly if exposed to significant temperature changes.

Is your soft-set honey from a single apiary?

No. Unlike our Spring, Blossom and Himalayan Balsam honeys, which are kept separate by apiary, our Soft Set Honey brings together honey recovered during extraction from several of our North Shropshire apiaries.

This allows us to make better use of the honey our bees produce, while creating a product with a completely different texture.

Is anything added to make it creamy?

No. The creamy texture is achieved entirely through mechanical working, which produces very fine honey crystals. No cream, sugar or other ingredients are added.
