Raw Shropshire Honey | Small Batch | Unpasteurised
Honey from our own bees in North Shropshire - never blended or imported.
Harvested in late summer from our Shotatton apiary near Ruyton-XI-Towns.
Himalayan balsam produces a particularly pale, light, runny honey with a clean flavour and very fluid consistency.
It’s one of the last honeys we harvest each season and tends to be available only in small quantities.
Because it stays runny for longer than many honeys, it’s especially good drizzled over yoghurt, fruit, porridge or warm toast.
Usually, our smallest and shortest seasonal harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Himalayan Balsam Honey so pale?
Himalayan balsam nectar naturally produces an unusually light honey with a very clean flavour profile.
Why does this honey remain so runny?
This honey typically crystallises more slowly than many other British honeys due to its natural sugar balance.
Why is Himalayan balsam important to bees?
It flowers heavily in late summer when other nectar sources can begin to fade, providing colonies with an important final nectar flow before autumn.
Is this honey harvested every year?
Not always in large quantities. Yield depends heavily on weather conditions and the strength of the late summer nectar flow.
