Five-frame Langstroth nucleus colonies, raised in North Shropshire and available for collection or UK-wide delivery. Selected for calm temperament, reliable brood patterns and steady development.

Each colony is raised by Henry across our apiaries and established during the spring before being supplied from mid-June onwards, depending on colony development and weather.

• Five ANEL plastic Langstroth brood frames with brood in all stages
• A marked F1 Buckfast queen
• Healthy workers and adequate stores
• Varroa treatment as part of our colony management
• Thorough pre-dispatch health checks

Our nucs are supplied on durable ANEL plastic frames. These are hygienic, long-lasting and fully compatible with standard Langstroth equipment, including Flow Hives.

All colonies are supplied in a secure travel nuc box, ready for safe transport home.

Summer Nucs

Our summer nucs are made up from early to mid-spring, as soon as weather and colony conditions allow, and given time to establish before being supplied to customers.

They have a queen from the current season and will generally be a smaller, younger colony than an overwintered nuc. Their priority during their first season is steady development and building sufficient strength and stores for winter.

We will contact you in early summer to arrange a suitable date from mid-June onwards, depending on colony development and weather.

• £50 non-refundable deposit
• £250 balance due in May or early June 2027
• Delivery added to the final balance if applicable

Purchasing a nuc is the start of a season, not a single transaction.

All customers receive access to our structured online guides covering hive preparation, installation, feeding, inspections and early management.

You will also have direct access to Henry via Business WhatsApp during working hours for practical support.
