Frequently Asked Questions

Honey

Is your honey raw?

Yes. Our honey is unpasteurised and minimally filtered to retain its natural enzymes, pollens, and delicate flavour.

Where is your honey produced?

We produce our honey in small batches around our apiaries in Myddle, North Shropshire.

What flowers do your bees forage from?

The forage varies by season and location, but may include hawthorn, dandelion, clover, wildflowers—and sometimes oilseed rape, depending on local fields.

Why does the honey set?

All raw honey naturally crystallises over time. Spring honey in particular tends to set faster. If you'd like it runnier, just stand the jar in warm water.

How should I store my honey?

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. No need to refrigerate.

Nucleus Colonies

Do you sell nucleus colonies (nucs)?

Yes. We offer a limited number of healthy, well-established nucleus colonies for sale each spring. They are available to pre-order via our website.

Are your nucs suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Our bees are carefully bred for calm temperaments and strong health—perfect for first-time or experienced keepers.

What’s included in a nuc?

Each nuc contains a marked, laying queen and 5–6 frames of brood, bees, and stores, housed in a temporary travel box.

Do you deliver nucs?

Yes. We offer nationwide delivery via Royal Mail or local collection from our base near Myddle. We’ll contact you to arrange your preferred option.

When will my nuc be ready?

Nucs are generally ready for collection or dispatch between late April and early June, depending on weather and colony progress. We'll keep you updated as the season develops.

Orders & Delivery

Can I collect my order?

Yes. You're welcome to collect your order by arrangement. We'll send details after your purchase.

Do you offer local delivery?

Yes. We deliver locally around Myddle, usually personally by Henry. Just choose this option at checkout if it appears for your postcode.

How is honey shipped?

We pack all honey jars carefully and send them via Royal Mail. UK delivery only at this time.

Can I pre-order honey?

We don’t offer pre-orders for honey just yet, but you can sign up to our mailing list to be first to know when new batches are available.
